We are proud to offer a full salon and spa experience as well as a variety of yoga & fitness classes.  You can also enjoy our all-inclusive professional skin care center for cosmetic services and anti-aging procedures.

Jeannie RitchieBurkhead

Jeannie RitchieBurkhead

Jeannie is the proud owner of the Be Spa & Hair City. Jeannie began her career at age 16 in attending the Jefferson county joint  vocational school where she excelled in the program and earned a scholarship to attend The Hair Experts Barber School at Ohio State.

In 2005 Jeannie attended Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy where she studied swedish massage, neuromuscular therapy, reflexology, reiki, and aromatherapy. She also studied sports, myofacial, and chair massage.
Education is a very important part of Jeannie’s life and career. To her, education is “the breakfast of champions”! She holds a cosmetology instructor license and occasionally teaches ceu classes to licensed professionals.
Over the course of 20 years Jeannie has taken many area stylists under her wing and educated them to be the ‘best of the best’.
Jeannie and her staff take great pride in education and have traveled all over the u.s. rubbing shoulders with some of the finest experts in the industry. Trained in precision hair cutting, textured hair, color/corrective color, and formal styles, Jeannie is one who continues to impress. She is a master at all she does and believes in working with hair, giving her clients her all.

Although education is very important, Jeannie’s main focus is the treatment of the guests of Be Spa. Jeannie’s main goal is to make you feel welcome and as special as you are as an individual! It is our pleasure to serve you and deliver your personal needs for all of your beauty services.

Barb Bonovich

Barb Bonovich

Barb is a personal trainer through ACE, a certification accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). She is a group fitness instructor and a nutrition coach with a Fitness Nutrition Specialist Certificate that she received from ACE. She is a bodybuilder with the NPC and a competition prep coach. Barb is very passionate about health and fitness and her main focus is on motivating and inspiring others.

Kathy was introduced to Cardio Beats in 2016 through Yoga Bliss Studio. This class is for drummers of all experience levels. Kathy has developed a fun energetic combination of rhythmic drumming and synchronized movements to promote a healthier well being. Kathy prides herself on tailoring the aerobic routines to promote a complete cardio workout that everyone can enjoy. Kathy has created a specialized Mommy an me class, where children get to be drum right along with the adults. The diversity of Cardio Beats is unlimited, anyone can do it, just show up and plan to have fun!

Carri Perani-Welsh

Carri Perani-Welsh

Carri is married and loves spending time with her husband Brian, their two puppies, and three cats. She loves gardening, cooking/baking, reading, crafting, and spending time outdoors hiking and bicycling.  She has been a strict vegan for 20 years and believes it’s so important to lead a healthy lifestyle and make environmentally responsible decisions to help protect the earth and keep it clean and healthy.

Carri began practicing hatha yoga 17 years ago with private instructor Romaji Singh in Pittsburgh, Pa while attending massage therapy school. She immediately fell in love with the positive effects that yoga had on her body, mind, and spirit. She is continually grateful for the balance, stability and peace that yoga continues to bring her and also the transformational impact it has had on her life.  Carri believes that yoga is much more than just an exercise regimen, it is a lifestyle.  Your practice on the mat can reflect aspects of your life and personality leading to enhanced self-awareness. She loves sharing her experience, as well as, the benefits of yoga with everyone and hopes that the practice will bring her students as much light and joy as it has brought her!

Carri completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Three Rivers Yoga Institute in Pittsburgh Pa. in 2011 and plans to complete a 500-hour program in the future.  She loves attending classes, workshops, and retreats that enable her to expand and grow as a teacher and practitioner. Keeping her practice fresh and fun is a priority so she spends plenty of time studying and practicing yoga at home.

Hello yogis! My name is Kimberly Harms and I’m from Follansbee WV. I received my 200hr yoga teacher training from Yoga H’Om in Robinson PA. Don’t take yourself too seriously, everyone wobbles in yoga! Come have some fun with me!

I took my first yoga class in 2001, but didn’t consistently practice until about 2005.  In 2010, I obtained my RYT-200 certificate with the only objective to learn more about the vast art of yoga – I enjoy being a yoga student and learning from many teachers.

Yoga is really all about you, and how you are in a particular moment.  There is no perfect pose.  There are no expectations.  There is just you fully expressing the pose – the best you can – at that moment!

My yoga practices are basic and slow-to-medium paced.  I use props and modifications because they allow any body-size and any person’s physical limitations to express the poses as fully as they can.  I’ve taken some additional training in Rope Wall Yoga and Aerial Yoga because these methods help all people – especially with any limitations – to experience the benefits of the poses that may not be fully available to them otherwise.

My only goal for any yoga practice is to finish feeling better both, physically and mentally.  I welcome you to any class at Be.

Claudette Baldt

Claudette Baldt

Claudette is a Licensed Massage Therapist. She received her training in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 2006 from American Institute for Massage. She has practiced in the states of Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Claudette started massage when she recognized the need to slow down from the everyday hustle and bustle to embrace the health benefits massage offers for our overall wellness. She has several modalities under her belt and specializes in Pre-natal, Isolated Stretching, and Stone Massage.

 

Claudette received her teacher training at Mind the Mat Pilates and Yoga studio in Alexandria, VA in 2015. She has been a long time follower of yoga and decided it was time for her to bring her practice to others who might also reap the benefits yoga has to offer. Her goal is to ease any fear people may have of yoga and to rid any myths of yoga being only for those who can touch their toes. Everyone has to start somewhere which is why she really enjoys teaching her Gentle Yoga class. It gives her the opportunity to teach both men and women everyone can do yoga; you just have to start.

Erin Burdine

Erin Burdine

Erin Burdine was born in San Diego California.  At age five she begged her mom for ballet shoes, and at age six she finally gave in and Erin fell in love with the world of dance. She was enrolled at New West Ballet Company who worked closely with the California Ballet Company.  She danced pre professionally throughout high school and relocated to Weirton, West Virginia at age 18 where she continued to dance with Point Park University and pursued teaching dance throughout the Ohio Valley. She started taking yoga classes to enhance her strength, balance, and flexibility. She ended up finding an even deeper connection to the practice of yoga than she had in dance. In April of 2015 she was in a car accident which injured her back and neck and put her in a neck brace for some time. She had to take a step back from dance but with the help of physical therapy and yoga she was able to regain her strength and flexibility.  She learned more about her body through the injury and her connection with yoga assisted her not only physically but mentally as she went through her healing process. Erin decided to pursue yoga teacher training at Yoga H’om where she received her 200-hour teaching certificate. With the 12 years of teaching experience behind her she was able to smoothly transition from teaching dance to teaching yoga.  She has furthered her training by studying with renowned teachers such as Kino McGregor and Jason Crandall! Erin finds so much joy in sharing her knowledge and energy with her students! When she is not in the yoga studio Erin enjoys hiking, painting and spending time with her family!

Austin Steineman

Austin is lead salon coordinator at Be Spa.
Austin has an extreme amount of natural talent. Some day he will be among the top stylists in the industry.
For now, he is the voice that greets your phone call and one of the beautiful faces that greets you at the door as you enter the salon. He gets great satisfaction from making our guests happy and seeing them leave the salon with a beautiful look!
He is a very special part of our team!

Khendraeyl Steineman

Khendraeyl is an extremely talented nail specialist. She has extensive training with the Creative Nail Design company and specializes in spa manicures, pedicures, nail art and shellac.
She always gives her guests her best to make their fingers and toes look beautiful. You will surely feel special in Khedraeyl’s care at Be Spa!
